Tooth whitening allows you to gain 2 to 3 shades of white compared to the natural color of your enamel, thanks to the application of a carbamide peroxide-based whitening agent.
This is a purely aesthetic treatment, generally considered to maintain the whiteness of your teeth, eliminate stains or to feel more comfortable with your smile and gain in confidence.
There are two types of treatment: “chairside” (at the dentist’s) or at home, using a custom-made mouthpiece. Studio Dentaire only offers the latter.
This treatment is not covered by Social Security. Some mutual insurance companies may offer you a flat rate. We can draw up a personalized schedule if required.

In fact, in-office treatment involves the use of a laser beam lamp. Over the years, however, we have come to realize that the use of laser lamps is uncomfortable and can be painful for some patients.
For all these reasons, we prefer to offer you outpatient treatment.
This is a two-stage process:
1/ We take impressions of your teeth at our office in Lyon 3ème. One of our prosthetic partners then creates a custom-made mouthpiece. It’s made of flexible resin and adapts perfectly to the shape of your teeth, for optimum comfort. We then give you a whitening kit containing your tray and a whitening agent.
2/ When you return home, coat the tray with the dose of whitening gel we’ve indicated, using the kit’s accessories. It should be worn for at least 2 hours a day for 3 weeks.
The effectiveness of the treatment will depend on several factors:
Consumption of coffee, tea, curry, red wine and other staining foods
Lifestyle (smoker or non-smoker)
Base color
Some basic recommendations for outpatient treatment :
Limit your intake of tea, coffee and tobacco during treatment.
Whitening is not permanent. You can reuse your tray at a later date by reapplying the gel we provide.
You will receive a bleaching kit. Keep it in a safe place for future use.
We recommend that you maintain the whiteness of your teeth by repeating the operation a few days a year.
