The many advantages of a dental crown

A cosmetic ceramic dental crown is a fixed prosthesis whose appearance is similar to that of the natural tooth, including its transparency. Generally placed on an implant, it is designed to replace the visible part of the tooth while remaining unnoticeable. At Studio Dentaire, our crowns feature an infrastructure made of zirconia, a synthetic mineral renowned for its strength. This avoids the need for a metal crown, which tends to reveal a metal border when the gums recede. This structure is then covered by our French prosthetic partners with cosmetic dental ceramics. Beyond its natural, aesthetic appearance, this type of prosthesis has the advantage of blending perfectly with the surrounding dental tissue. It provides real comfort, comparable to that of a natural tooth, and enables normal speech and chewing to be restored in the event of extraction.

Are you looking for a dentist who specializes in dental prostheses to fit a ceramic crown? Studio Dentaire offers you tailor-made care. We welcome you in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and start by carrying out a full oral and dental check-up during your first appointment at our Lyon office. This enables us to identify any problems (such as gingivitis) that need to be treated before scheduling an operation. We then take 3D impressions of your teeth using an innovative optical camera. Fast and comfortable, this technique eliminates the need for the notoriously unpleasant dental paste. This enables us to design a custom-made dental crown that perfectly matches your dentition and smile line. Once this stage has been completed, we create a resin model (mock-up) for you to try on, so that you can validate the result with photos and videos taken in our studio.

One of our partner prosthetists will then design your custom-made ceramic crown within a few weeks, and the quick, painless procedure is carried out in the operating theatre of our practice under local anaesthetic. In the case of implant-supported crowns, please note that it will take between 3 and 6 months after the implant has been placed before the prosthesis can be fitted – the time required for the alveolar bone to heal and the implant to integrate perfectly with the jawbone. Studio Dentaire works with highly experienced French prosthetic craftsmen: Thierry Damiron and Cécile Cara in Caluire, the Pierre Michel Favier laboratory in Villeurbanne and Sébastien Mosconi in Munich. Last but not least, services not reimbursed by the French Social Security system are quoted on a customized basis. A personalized payment schedule can be set up on request. Our prices (on a fee-for-service basis) range from €165 to €250 for a temporary crown, €950 for a ceramic crown and €950 for an implant-supported crown.
