Under local anaesthetic, the dental surgeon makes an incision in the gum, then inserts the implant before suturing. You receive detailed advice on post-operative care and hygiene. A week or so later, you return to remove the stitches. You must then wait for the implant to heal completely before having a prosthesis fitted. In the meantime, your dentist may suggest a temporary solution to mask the location of the missing tooth. Aftercare consists of rigorous hygiene at home and regular appointments at our dental surgery.
