An initial appointment will enable us to take stock of your expectations and carry out a full oral and dental check-up. This will enable us to check the feasibility of the procedure and assess any pre-procedure care required. For a dental implant to be fitted, you need to have sufficient bone and not suffer from periodontitis, which has the effect of progressively reducing it. If you do not suffer from periodontal disease, but your bone level is too low in height or thickness, a dental bone graft can be used to overcome this problem before scheduling an operation. Implants are considered “hors nomenclature” by the French Social Security system. Only your mutual insurance company or supplementary health insurance may be able to reimburse part of the cost. If necessary, we can offer you a personalized payment schedule over several months to enable you to access our services. Treatment covered by Social Security will be paid in full at the end of each session.
An implant is a small titanium screw that is inserted into the jawbone to replace the root of a tooth. Once the bone has healed, a ceramic crown can be placed on a dental abutment. Dental implants are biocompatible and are currently the most advantageous solution for replacing an extracted tooth. They enable you to regain perfect speech and mastication, with real comfort. It’s like having your real teeth again. A fixed prosthesis also avoids the need for a more restrictive removable appliance, while achieving a natural result. Another significant advantage of the implant solution is that your healthy adjacent teeth don’t need to be altered, as is the case with a dental bridge, where they are trimmed to serve as abutments.
Studio Dentaire uses only ASTRA TECH implants, the world standard in this field. Manufactured in Sweden or Germany, they are delivered with a traceability sheet for optimal follow-up, and help accelerate the healing process.
The procedure will be performed under local anaesthetic at our practice by your implant dentist. The procedure is completely painless, and there are usually no post-operative complications. We will prescribe medication for you to take before and after the operation. This ensures no swelling. Placement itself is quick: we prepare the jawbone by slightly lifting the gum. Once the implant is in place, a few stitches are inserted. These will be removed about 1 week later, once the healing process has begun. Once the bone has healed (within 4 to 6 months), we can schedule the installation of a ceramic crown.
