A dental implant takes the form of a titanium screw that the dental surgeon inserts into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth.
Titanium is a biocompatible material: once the implant has been placed, the bone will heal around it and integrate it. An abutment can then be attached to receive a ceramic crown or bridge.

Since 1999, our dental implantology practice has been offering its patients a tailor-made care program to help them smile again.
Founded by Dr Hervé Touati, a registered dental surgeon, our practice brings together a team of 3 practitioners, 3 assistants, 1 care coordinator and 1 medical secretary in a historic building in the Part-Dieu district, close to the SNCF train station and shopping center.
Because each case is unique, we will first offer you a complete oral and dental check-up, which will enable us to draw up an appropriate treatment plan. In some cases, periodontal treatment or dental bone grafting may be necessary before considering implant placement.
Your ceramic prosthesis will be custom-designed by a French dental technician from an in-office dental impression. These prostheses have the same look and strength as a natural tooth, for a result you’d never expect.
Finally, you will be offered a follow-up check-up after the implant and your prosthesis have been fitted.
Implant placement is carried out under local anesthetic in the operating room of our dental implant center. It is completely painless.
The dental surgeon makes a slight incision in the gum, and a small opening in the jawbone to prepare it to receive the implant. The implant is then gently screwed into place. Finally, sutures are applied to promote healing.
A week later, we’ll make an appointment to check that the gum is healing properly. We will then remove the stitches.
The abutment and then the fixed prosthesis must be installed once the bone has completely healed, in 3 to 6 months.
A provisional prosthesis may be suggested for aesthetic areas in between.
