Procedure at our implantology practice
Before scheduling implant surgery at Studio Dentaire in Lyon 3ème, your implantologist will offer you a full oral and dental check-up to ensure that there are no contraindications, and to set up a customized care program that takes into account your needs and the final result. In the case of gingivitis, for example, we’ll work with you to treat the infection beforehand to maximize the chances of successful implant integration. If the height or thickness of the bone at the level of the tooth to be replaced is insufficient, a bone graft may be considered. The procedure itself is quick and painless. It takes place under local anaesthetic in our operating theatre and is performed by your practitioner and an assistant. Our dental implantology practice uses computer-guided surgery to ensure maximum precision and minimum invasiveness, using 3D guides. The advantage of working in our dental surgery under local anaesthetic, rather than in a clinic under general anaesthetic, is that you won’t experience any unpleasant swelling (we’ll prescribe medication before and after the procedure for this), and you’ll be able to return to your daily routine more easily. Once the implant has been placed, we provide a follow-up check to ensure that healing is taking place. Once this has taken place (3 to 6 months), we can schedule an appointment to fit the abutment and then the ceramic dental crown, designed from impressions of your teeth by our partner prosthetists.
