A dental veneer is a thin film of ceramic bonded to the outside of the tooth. Unlike a crown or bridge, it does not replace the natural tooth, but rather masks it to correct its appearance.
The result is as spectacular as it is natural: not only can tooth discoloration be corrected, but also their size, shape and spacing. A single tooth can be treated in this way, as can an entire row.

Certain contraindications may prevent (or delay) the application of a dental veneer:
a devitalized tooth
periodontal disease (in which case appropriate treatment is required)
a decayed tooth
polycaries
insufficient enamel
severe meshing problems between the upper and lower jaws

Before considering the installation of dental veneers, you will be offered a complete aesthetic assessment. This takes place over two 1.5-hour sessions in our office, during which we will diagnose your smile using Digital Smile Design software. We’ll then create a wax model so you can try on your new smile to validate the project before scheduling an operation.
Fitting dental veneers generally requires two sessions, as for all prosthetic procedures apart from the preliminary check-up:
a first impression of your teeth. The veneers will be made using your natural dentition as a reference, to provide a customized correction.
a second, 10 to 15 days later (to allow time for the veneers to be fabricated by our prosthetic partners), for final fitting.
Veneers are usually fitted by trimming the visible part of the tooth as little as possible. This cut or preparation is calibrated to remove as little enamel as possible. The procedure is minimally invasive, but does require anesthesia.
The veneers are bonded to the tooth using a special ceramic adhesive.
