Outpatient tooth whitening for long-lasting results
There are two ways to have your teeth whitened: “chairside” treatment, applied directly at the dentist’s office, or outpatient treatment, with a mouthpiece worn for several weeks. At Studio Dentaire, we offer you the second option, which delivers significantly longer-lasting results and greater comfort. We’ll give you a custom-made mouthpiece that you’ll need to keep in place for 4 to 6 weeks, wearing it for at least 2 hours a day. This longer-than-recommended treatment time guarantees you a gentle, completely pain-free treatment. Teeth whitening can make your teeth 2 to 3 shades whiter than their enamel color. This is achieved by applying a 16% carbamide peroxide-based gel whitening agent to the tray. The effect lasts an average of 10 to 12 months. After that, 2-3-day courses of treatment are recommended to maintain the whitening effect.
How much does tooth whitening at Studio Dentaire cost?
The cost of teeth whitening at Studio Dentaire is €650. This fee includes a preliminary dental check-up, a custom-made thermoformed soft plastic tray, a treatment kit with 8 syringes of whitening gel and follow-up sessions. This treatment is considered “hors nomenclature” by the French Social Security system: it is not reimbursed. Some mutual insurance companies may, however, offer you a flat-rate package. We can offer you a personalized payment schedule if required.
Customized treatment and follow-up at our dental practice
As we’ve seen, teeth whitening with a tray takes several weeks.
The Studio Dentaire service is divided into 4 phases:
1/We carry out a complete oral check-up. For tooth whitening, it is preferable to have no cavities or periodontal disease. We can perform a preliminary scaling for best results.
2/We take impressions of your teeth at our office in Lyon 3rd. One of our partner prosthetists then creates a custom-made mouthpiece in flexible resin. Perfectly adapted to your teeth, it offers you real comfort when you wear it.
3/We give you your whitening kit with tray and gel syringes. You then carry out your teeth whitening on an outpatient basis, wearing the gel-coated tray for at least 2 hours a day for the length of time indicated by your practitioner. It’s often more convenient to wear it in the evening after eating.
4/Once the treatment is complete, you are entitled to a follow-up check-up at the surgery to ensure lasting results.
