What is a convention dentist?

A conventionné dentist has signed up to the Sécurité Sociale agreement, which sets the fees for the most common dental treatments. He or she undertakes to respect these rates for all treatments on this list: consultation, scaling, cavity treatment, tooth extraction, root canalization, etc. These treatments will be reimbursed up to 70% by Social Security.

Treatments not included in the list are considered “hors nomenclature”. They will not be reimbursed by Social Security, and the dentist is free to set his or her price with “tact and moderation”. This applies in particular to dental implants and periodontal treatments. However, mutual insurance companies may offer partial coverage or a fixed price for these treatments.

Studio Dentaire has 3 registered dental practitioners. We therefore apply the reimbursement rates set by the Assurance Maladie, which cannot be exceeded. This is an advantage for “ordinary” dental procedures;

Do dentures cost less with an approved professional?

Social Security has established a list of procedures with a base price for dental prostheses, but a dental surgeon under agreement is free to add a surcharge.

The Social Security treatment grid was established in 1978, and contemporary dentistry has made great strides since then in the treatment techniques employed.

It now appears that the cost of treatments such as crowns is underestimated by the French Social Security system.

For example, all our dentures are made in porcelain or ceramic by French dental technicians from European materials with a traceability sheet. This enables us to guarantee you a 100% natural, long-lasting result and better follow-up, but this type of prosthesis is much more expensive than a metal crown.

Consequently, Studio Dentaire charges free fees for all prosthetic treatments. An estimate will be provided at the end of the preliminary assessment.
