Studio Dentaire was founded in 1999 by Dr. Hervé Touati at 4 boulevard Eugène Deruelle in Lyon 3rd district, in the heart of the Part-Dieu district. Rather than carrying out a one-off, targeted intervention according to our patients’ requests, Studio Dentaire advocates a 360° approach, which involves considering oral health as a whole for lasting well-being. In the case of dental implant placement, before scheduling the operation, we carry out a full oral check-up to identify any problems that need to be treated, such as gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) or periodontitis, which, if left untreated, could jeopardize the implant’s long-term viability. We also check that you have sufficient bone height and density in the area of the tooth to be replaced – if this is not the case, a graft may be proposed. Finally, once the implant and crown have been placed, we offer you a series of check-ups to ensure your peace of mind. Our team is at your side throughout your treatment, answering your questions in a transparent, caring and educational way.
Dental implants are inserted by your implantologist dentist in the operating room of our dental practice. Dental implants are small titanium screws that are gently inserted into the jawbone (the alveolar bone) after the gum has been slightly incised, to replace the root of the extracted or missing tooth. Titanium has the advantage of being a biocompatible metal, meaning that once the implant has been inserted, the surrounding bone will heal, integrating the implant rather than treating it as a foreign body. For this reason, titanium implants have an excellent integration success rate and a long lifespan, although this depends in part on the patient’s oral health and lifestyle. The operation is performed under local anaesthetic and is completely pain-free. You will be given a prescription beforehand to take medication before and after the session to avoid swelling – which is much more frequent under general anaesthesia. Once the implant is in place, your implantologist uses stitches to help the healing process begin. We remove the stitches about ten days later, once we can see that healing is well underway. Complete healing (or osseointegration) usually takes place within 3 to 6 months. Once this is complete, we install a ceramic crown on an abutment. All our crowns are custom-made from your dental impressions by our French prosthetic partners.
