An appointment with an experienced implant dentist

Le Studio is a dental implantology practice located just a few minutes’ walk from the Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse and the Part-Dieu SNCF train station. With over 20 years’ experience, we welcome you in a warm atmosphere and a privileged setting for tailor-made care. As part of a consultation for the placement of a dental implant, after an interview to identify your needs and expectations, we perform a panoramic X-ray to check that implantology is compatible with your situation. Certain contraindications may prevent the use of an implant:

severe heart disease

osteoporosis

tumors

infectious diseases

A thorough oral examination enables us to identify any dental problems (cavities, gingivitis, periodontitis…) that should be treated before surgery. More often than not, we’ll ask you to take a CT scan to assess the volume of your bone. If there isn’t enough space to place the implant, a bone graft will be considered.

Step 1: Surgical phase

The procedure itself takes place in the operating room of our dental implantology practice, under local anaesthetic. Quick and painless, the titanium implant – in the form of a small screw – is inserted into the alveolar bone after a slight incision in the gum. Stitches are inserted and removed 10 days later at the surgery. A follow-up check is then carried out to ensure that the bone around the implant is healing properly – this is called osseointegration. When healing is complete (3 to 5 months later), the prosthetic phase can begin.

Step 2: Impression and crown fitting

Once the bone around the implant has healed, we can take the impression. Our dental technician will then create a custom-made ceramic crown that blends harmoniously with your teeth. Your implant dentist will then attach it to a dental abutment for a natural result. The presence of the implant is invisible to the naked eye.
