The course of treatment
“It then took about two months before the treatment started, due to the confinement. During this time, I applied the care and brushing method that had been explained to me at the surgery with the care kit I had been given. It became a ritual, and I soon began to see results. My teeth were whiter than with conventional toothpaste and, generally speaking, I felt better in my mouth and had the pleasant feeling of participating in this improvement rather than passively waiting for my first treatment session.
Subsequent sessions went very smoothly: Dr Touati and his team always welcomed me warmly and updated me every step of the way, so that I was as involved as possible. I’ve never been afraid of scaling, but I didn’t know what to expect when it came to removing tartar from under the gums. In the end, I was surprised to find that there wasn’t much difference in terms of how it felt: the tools went deeper, but it didn’t hurt. The main difficulty was keeping my mouth wide open for a long time, but even then, the team was very attentive and didn’t hesitate to offer breaks if I felt uncomfortable.
Finally (and this is the main thing), as the weeks went by, I noticed that my mouth was healthier, my gums were no longer itchy and they were falling harmoniously over my teeth again, although of course the roots of the teeth that had become very loose are still visible. I no longer have breath problems either, and food doesn’t get stuck between my teeth as much.
I still have a few check-ups to go over the next few months, and I know I’ll have to be careful all my life to keep the disease from coming back, but I’m much more reassured and confident about what lies ahead, whereas before I felt pretty helpless in the face of the situation.
So I can only recommend Studio Dentaire, which offers real follow-up over time and a listening ear at every moment that is much appreciated.”
